The DSA Women’s Health (DSAWH) Fellowship 2025 Cohort has officially wrapped up, marking the end of a powerful nine-month journey. This year, 20 outstanding women researchers from across West and Central Africa pushed the boundaries of innovation in women’s health, applying data-driven approaches to some of the region’s most pressing challenges.
As the fellowship concludes, we invited several fellows to reflect on their experience — the breakthroughs that motivated them, the challenges that sharpened their expertise, and the new paths they are now confident to pursue. Their reflections remind us why investing in women in data science and health research is not just important but vital to shaping a healthier and more equitable future for Africa.
Their voices make one thing clear: supporting women in data-driven health innovation is essential for Africa’s future.
