Data Science Africa (DSA) is proud to partner in delivering the Google DeepMind AI Research Foundations curriculum as part of our strategic commitment to strengthening AI capacity across the continent.
Since 2015, DSA has built a vibrant pan-African community of researchers, students, and faculty dedicated to solving African challenges using data-driven approaches. Through our established network of university research labs across Africa, the curriculum will be delivered to undergraduate finalists, interns, MSc, and PhD students engaged in applied data science and machine learning research.
Faculty at 15 partner universities across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia, Cameroon, Botswana, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Nigeria will oversee implementation and mentorship.
Selected students who complete at least four courses will be eligible for travel support to attend DSA 2026 in Kampala, Uganda (July 20–24, 2026), hosted at Makerere University.
This initiative reinforces DSA’s mission to develop world-class African AI talent and nurture a thriving research ecosystem across the continent.
